Wonderful Holy Spirit can witness through you

They couldn't take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves! Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education. They recognized them as companions of Jesus, but with the man right before them, seeing him standing there so upright—so healed!—what could they say against that? (Acts 4:13-14 The Message). If you are a true child of God and companion of Jesus you can look 2 ways. Look to yourself and Evangelism is SCARY. Even more scary if you dont think it's scary when you are loking at yourself and your own NATURAL abilities. The religious world is full of well trained intelligent theologians with natural abilities...with full heads and empty hearts. Lovers of an idolitrous Jesus they have invented in theoir own image..not the Jesus who is the living WOrd and confronted the Pharisees. The second way is to look to Jesus and Him alone is you wish to FIsh (for men). "Oh I could never witness to a stranger about Jesus"...too right you couldn't nor would your flesh want to...but..Jesus living in you, by the power of the Wonderful Holy Spirit can witness through you...Yes YOU! Hallelujah. So Step 2 in Evangelism is SUBMIT TO GOD

Becoming Truly Converted

He pulled away from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and prayed, "Father, remove this cup from me. But please, not what I want. What do you want?" At once an angel from heaven was at his side, strengthening him. He prayed on all the harder. Sweat, wrung from him like drops of blood, poured off his face. (Luke 22:42-44 The Message). He didn't want the Cross and He had the power to save Himself from it...Yet He went ahead in obedience as the Perfect lamb for the slaughter. He died the death I deserve to give me the eternal life only He could buy.
STEP 1 in Evangelism entails BECOMING TRULY CONVERTED ourselves. This is a work of God, not just a decision of your will. The gospel is uncomfortably simple: The only innocent man ever (Jesus) dying for the Guilty (you, me and the rest of humanity). The fad today is to say that Jesus was not innocent and we are not guilty...both lies. Get this straight: There is NO Forgiveness from God without something, and that something is Blood, the matchless perfect sin-free blood of Jesus. Have you said "God you're right and I'm wrong...Sorry" or have you simply drifted into Christian company, learnt a few buzz words and enjoyed the acceptance and love? COMMENTS PLEASE.

No Accident!

So you know Jesus but, being honest, you are terrified to make Him known. W E L C O M E . It's no accident you are reading this. The very word "Evangelism" can bring a shudder to the spine. Today I was talking to a good friend and saint (remember that you are either a saint or a aint!) and I was telling him that just as Libraries ran the course "Computers for the Terrified" to help Old dears e-mail the kids in Oz so too can Evangelists help other believers. For a start let me put my cards on the table: I am a "born from above" Christian for the last 24 years, live in Ireland and after a period of many years when I did no regular fishing (evangelism that is!) have over the last 2 years gone regularly onto the streets of Dublin and other cities and towns to witness and preach for Jesus. I do this in His strength not mine and He is faithful to help. In discussions with other believers I continually come across sayings like "Oh I could never do that" or "You're so brave". This Blog will over time show 2 things "You can witness" and "It's through our death that He can live through us". You will both be blessed and be a blessing to others. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY. Ant
